Troubleshooting
Common questions
I cannot hear a lesson clearly
Check media volume, silent-mode behavior, the selected output, and whether another app is holding audio focus. Disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth headphones, then replay the prompt. If the problem continues, include your device, OS version, output device, and the lesson ID in your email.
My local progress is missing
Earmonic progress is saved on your device first. If Google Drive backup was connected and completed successfully, reconnect the same Google account from Profile or Settings and choose Sync now. Earned lessons and recent sessions are combined without counting the same session twice. Unfinished sessions and device preferences are not restored. Do not clear app storage while investigating a backup error.
Google Drive backup will not sync
Confirm internet access and choose Sync now in Profile or Settings. If Google asks, allow access to Earmonic's hidden app-data folder; the App cannot access your other Drive files. A failed backup or disconnected account does not erase local progress. If the issue persists, send support the exact status message, but do not send passwords or access tokens.
Restore Purchases did not unlock Pro
Use the same Apple App Store or Google Play account that made the purchase, confirm the subscription is active in the store, then choose Restore Purchases in Earmonic. Store purchases do not normally transfer between Apple and Google. Include the store and subscription status in your support email, but never send full payment details.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by the store that billed you. Uninstalling Earmonic or disconnecting Google does not cancel billing. Use the Apple or Google subscription-management link below and follow the store's confirmation flow.
Singing or clapping practice fails
Allow microphone access in device settings, move to a quieter room, and follow the note or clap prompt. The App analyzes a short audio stream in memory and discards the raw samples. Core listening practice remains available without microphone access.
A MIDI device is not detected
Connect and power the device before opening calibration, grant any platform permission, and retry after reconnecting USB or Bluetooth MIDI. Earmonic currently calibrates against the first available MIDI device and waits for one note-on event. Include the device model and connection type when asking for help.
I need a privacy or deletion request
Earmonic does not create a separate server account. Core progress lives on your device; optional backup lives in your Google Drive app-data folder; purchase records are handled by your store and RevenueCat. Email us with the subject Earmonic privacy request and describe which data or provider you mean so we can give the correct steps and handle information under our control.
Contact support
Send useful context, not secrets.
Include the Earmonic version, device model, operating-system version, lesson or feature, what you expected, what happened, and steps to reproduce. Never send a password, access token, store credential, service-account file, or full payment-card details.
